1. ALL AGES & ABILITIES WELCOME: Newborns to Senior Citizens ~ and
tons of grade school children and teens and pre-teens ~ are currently
enrolled. All ages, experiences, and backgrounds are welcomed with our
open door policy. Call and enroll at any time.
2. TALENT AND EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED: Every child and every adult can
learn. The Hibbing School of Music is founded on the philosophy that
every person is a blank slate. Whom they become is a direct
result of their environment and what that experience writes on their
blank slate.
3. VERSATILITY OF PROGRAMS: All types, all styles, and all tastes of
music are currently being taught here from all decades ~ from classical
to modern ~ so there something for everyone to learn that catches their
interest and helps motivate students of all ages and backgrounds ~
including special needs ~ to want to learn more.
4. LESSONS ARE CUSTOMIZED TO THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT: Notereaders,
self-taught, those who prefer to play by ear are all welcomed and
taught by qualified and versatile teachers who are open-minded,
accepting, kind and flexible.
5. RESEARCH SHOWS THE
DIFFERENCE THAT MUSIC LESSONS MAKE IN A CHILD'S LIFE: Well-documented
studies from numerous universities and experts in the field of child
development show without a doubt that children who take regular music
lessons from an early age simply develop cognitively, physically,
linguistically, emotionally, socially, and musically more consistently,
more fully, more completely than those children who are not afforded
the opportunity to do so.
6. ONE-STOP SHOP: We offer all major instruments (including voice,
piano, guitar, drums, violin, kindermusic, band instruments and more).
Our guidelines, developed over years in the business, contain
recommended ages to begin lessons on the various instruments. Because
several instruments and teachers are available, siblings can take
different music classes or private lessons at the same time in
different rooms with different teachers ~ making our studio very
convenient for moms & dads & caregivers.
7. PAST SUCCESS OFOUR PROGRAM: Our students have gone on to achieve
amazing things, including performing on national television, national
radio, and for Garrison Keillor's "Prarie Home Companion" &
Minnesota Twins. While many students have gone on to professional
careers in music, all have learned a lifelong love of music.

8. PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES: Students are invited (never forced) to
participate in live public performances on a regular basis ~ such as
singing and playing for recitals, contests, parades, fundraisers,
non-profits, schools, benefits for the American Cancer Society and
Jerry's Kids, fairs & festivals all across northern Minnesota.
9. COMPETITIONS & RECITALS: Students are encouraged (never forced)
to participate in public recitals, and older students are given
opportunities to enter competitions in music and dance that offer
unique experiences and prizes. Among the competitions our director has
created include Twin Ports Idol and Iron Range Idol, contests which
allow young singers the chance at a recording contract and a complete
CD recording opportunity.
10. VALUE ADDED: Extras and perks include free admission of family
members to recitals, and a music scholarship program that is unique in
all the Midwest ~ more than $205,000 in
CD Demo Recording Awards, Savings Bonds, Tuition Waivers, Trophies,
Certificates and Special Awards have been given to young musicians and
singers in northern Minnesota over the last twelve years ~ NO OTHER

11. TUITION TAX DEDUCTIBLE: Depending upon the classes you choose, your
tuition may be tax deductible, further increasing the practical
financial value of our music school to you.
12. OUR LONG TRACK RECORD: The studio owner's family has a century-old
tradition of musical roots in the area, with the current owners
bringing 27 years of full-time experience in the industry. With this
level of experience behind the school, we have strong roots and
tradition.

credentials in piano
& voice, and hires only the best and most qualified teachers and
staff for all studio positions. All our teachers are highly qualified
and professional, some having graduate degrees and achieved the
