Antique Melodeon, museum quality art piece, circa 1865. This Civil War era vintage instrument is a family heirloom, and was transported from upstate New York to Minnesota by covered wagon in the 1880s. We have a group photo of great-great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather playing this and other instruments in the early 1890s. Once-in-a-lifetime treasure, sure to delight the music officianato as well as the history buff. Very good condition, no significant wear to cabinet or keyboard. Meticulously protected in heat & humidity controlled environments for nearly a century. We would be losing a dear friend, but we feel its rightful place would be on display in a prominent place, estate, or museum so that more of the world could enjoy the riches of its detailed craftsmanship. For the right institution, the price would be negotiable.
