CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR THIRTEEN (13) WINNERS

Due to the extremely high talent level, the three judges' decisions were very difficult. Congratulations to the following 2005 Twin Ports Idol Award-Winners - talented singers who have survived the final grueling round of cuts. We started off on at the Radisson with hundreds of entrants. Beginning on April 14th just 85 Semi-Finalists made the second cut. For the third cut, we trimmed down to only thirty-six survivors as follows: twenty-four (24) in the 14 to 26 division, eight (8) in the thirteen (13) and under division, and four (4) in the 27 and up division. From these 36 semi-finalists, a difficult and grueling decision by the judges was made to keep only thirteen (13) Finalists.

ALL OF THE FINALISTS SHOWN BELOW competed live at Grandma's Sports Garden on Thursday, May 12th from 6pm to 9pm for $23,000 in prizes sponsored by Living Water Music, Inc. Recording Studios and the Twin Ports Idol Singing Lessons of Duluth, Virginia and Hibbing, MN. There were two (2) perfect scores (42 out of 42). Some contestants in earlier rounds were disqualified for missing their audition date, and some for breaking the policies of this competition, including the taking of pictures and use of cell phones during the competition, which is strictly prohibited and explained in the rules and guildelines for Twin Ports Idol.

There were two tie-breaker situations in the Finals this year - one in the 13 and Under Division for 2nd Place (between Megan Vidas and Nick Carlson), and the other for the Grand Prize Recording Contract and the title of Twin Ports Idol 2005 (between Brittany Aultman and Larissa Flint).

IMPORTANT: THE POSSIBILITY OF ALTERNATE / SUBSTITUTE AWARD WINNERS

According to the Twin Ports Idol Policies and Guidelines, if any Award Winner below is unable for any reason to fulfill the requirements of their contract or their award, LWM and / or owners, at their sole discretion, MAY OPT TO PASS THE AWARD ON TO THE NEXT HIGHEST SCORING FINALIST OR ALTERNATE. This means that, although an Alternate does not receive a recording contract or award this May, the possibility may exist to receive an award later if an award-winner bows out or is disqualified before their recording or scholarship is completed. However, as the Twin Ports Idol policies and guidelines state, these awards may instead be placed in the scholarship pool for next year's Twin Ports Idol contest, at LWM and / or owner's sole discretion.

TOTAL OF $23,000 IN RECORDING CONTRACTS AWARDED THIS YEAR TO TWIN PORTS IDOL FINALISTS BY LIVING WATER MUSIC, INC. TOTAL OF $205,000 AWARDED TO SINGERS SINCE 1994 BY LWM RECORDING STUDIOS

Contestants (and their parents) are aware that all of the awards below are subject to the recipient completing the terms of the recording contract, including performance opportunities, as outlined in the policies and guidelines, which were published on this website in December of 2004. During the registration process for Twin Ports Idol, all contestants (and their parents if minor entrant) signed the entry form stating (1) they had read the policies and guidelines and (2) agreed to abide by them. All of these policies have been published for 6 months and have been permanently available on this website for everyone to inspect. These policies were also posted in hard copy (large print laminated version) just outside the preliminary audition room every Thursday in March plus April 7th 2005 at the Radisson in Duluth, MN for entrants to read and study prior to entry. For more info see policies.

Our 2005 winners below did not all complete the performance requirements of their award. Opon registration, all contestants and their families accepted the terms, policies and guidelines of the competition, which included live performance obligations in order to receive their award. As you can see below, not all contestants fulfilled their obligations, and so their awards were, unfortunately, terminated according to TPI policies. Every effort was made to negotiate in good faith with the contestants who have been disqualified. Those who failed to follow through with their commitments to TPI and Living Water Music, Inc. have had their generous CD awards put back into the pool of future LWM contest winners, according to the policies of TPI. However, LWM will be releasing "TPI AllStar" CDs of all the finalists, featuring live recordings of the Semi-Final and Finale singing contests, as well as some unfinished recordings captured at LWM studios in Hibbing, MN. The tentative release date for the first "TPI AllStar" CD will be Spring 2006. Call (800) 248-7225 for more information.

TPI "ALL STARS" CD RELEASE PARTY will be held soon. Call (800) 248-7225 for more information! TPI "ALL STARS" CDs will be available for purchase this spring via this website or by calling toll-free (800) 248-7225.
