Announcing Living Water Music, Inc. and Craig LiaBraaten Singing Lessons and Vocal Coaching Studios is opening a new teaching and recording studio in the heart of downtown Duluth on Superior Street. You may register at any time and semesters are flexible and available to all ages and levels of ability and experience. CD ORDERS BEING TAKEN FOR SEMI-FINALIST LIVE PERFORMANCES AT GRANDMA'S

Due to many requests, we are offering CDs of the semi-finalists performances at Grandma's Sports Garden. You can order CDs of ALL the semi-Finalists, or you can order custom CDs of specific singers only. Fee scale:

• We estimate the whole project (37 performers) will fit on a two (2) CD set for $40.
• Prices on custom CDs start at $20, depending upon the quantity of singers you want on the CD.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR THIRTEEN (13) FINALISTS

Congratulations to the following 2005 Twin Ports Idol Finalists - talented singers who have survived another grueling round of cuts. We started off on at the Radisson with hundreds of entrants. Beginning on April 14th just 85 Semi-Finalists made the second cut. Now, for the third cut, we trimmed down to only thirty-six survivors as follows: twenty-four (24) in the 14 to 26 division, eight (8) in the thirteen (13) and under division, and four (4) in the 27 and up division. From these 36 semi-finalists, a difficult and grueling decision by the judges was made to keep only thriteen (13) Finalists. ALL OF THE SINGERS SHOWN BELOW will compete live at Grandma's Sports Garden on Thursday, May 12th from 6pm to 9pm for $18,000 in prizes sponsored by Living Water Music, Inc. and the LiaBraaten Singing Lessons of Duluth, Virginia and Hibbing, MN. There were four (4) perfect scores (21 out of 21), and the cutoff for this round was a score of 15 out of 21 points. The lowest score was three (3) points. Some contestants were disqualified for missing their audition date, and some for breaking the policies of this competition, including the taking of pictures and use of cell phones during the competition, which is strictly prohibited and explained in the rules and guildelines for Twin Ports Idol.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR EIGHT (8) ALTERNATES (SUBSTITUTES)

Due to the fact that a total of fourteen (14) contestants were disqualified in the past month due to NO SHOWS and Twin Ports Idol policy violations, it has been determined that ALTERNATES would be selected in the event that any Finalist shown below is unable to attend the vocal coaching session with Craig LiaBraaten or to compete on Thursday, May 12th as scheduled. Alternates are advised to attend the Finale, and to be prepared to step in at the last moment if the opportunity presents itself. To obtain a list of possible finale songs with piano background (LiaBraaten), it is recommended that alternates email Craig LiaBraaten by using the "Email Us Directly" link on the index page at www.livingwatermusic.com. Due to time constraints, it will likely not be possible for alternates to rehearse with LiaBraaten (until sound check at 4pm on May 12th) unless a Finalist bows out before Wednesday, May 12th. Please remember, Alternates, that you are being included here just in case an opening presents itself, and that THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT WILL HAPPEN. The reason there are more alternates in the 14 to 26 Division is because that division is competing for the $5,000 Recording Contract. Both the 13 and Under Division and the 27 and Up Division are competing for separate $1,000 Recording Contracts. There is a separate $2,000 Recording Contract for the best Teen Idol score who does not capture the $5,000 Grand Prize.

IMPORTANT: THE POSSIBILITY OF ALTERNATE / SUBSTITUTE AWARD WINNERS

According to the Twin Ports Idol Policies and Guidelines, if any Finalist or Alternate is unable for any reason to fulfill the requirements of their contract or their award, LWM and / or owners, at their sole discretion, MAY OPT TO PASS THE AWARD ON TO THE NEXT HIGHEST SCORING FINALIST OR ALTERNATE. This means that, although an Alternate does not receive a recording contract or award this May, the possibility may exist to receive an award later if an award-winner bows out or is disqualified before their recording or scholarship is completed. However, as the Twin Ports Idol policies and guidelines state, these awards may instead be placed in the scholarship pool for next year's Twin Ports Idol contest, at LWM and / or owner's sole discretion.

FINALISTS: FINALE SONG LIST AND COACHING SESSIONS WITH LIABRAATEN (05-09, 05-10, AND 05-11)

After Thursday, May 5th, each contestant who is selected as a Finalist will need to prepare two (2) more selections in one (1) free coaching session with Craig LiaBraaten for the May 12th Finale. LiaBraaten will provide a list of songs that the singers may choose from for the first song, and the other song is the "Winner's Song", which ALL FINALISTS ARE REQUIRED TO LEARN FOR MAY 12th. IMPORTANT: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL FINALISTS EMAIL OR PHONE LWM / LIABRAATEN ASAP TO OBTAIN THE SONGLIST FOR THE FIRST FINALE SONG CHOICE, in order to be better prepared for the coaching session with LiaBraaten. Upon request, THIS SONG LIST CAN BE FAXED to TPI Finalists and Alternates upon request in advance of the coaching session, or given to the contestant at the coaching session. These Twin Ports Idol Finale rehearsal sessions will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis at LiaBraaten's studio in Hibbing, MN on Monday (05-09-05), Tuesday (05-10-05), and Wednesday (05-11-05) and according to the availability of LiaBraaten. Additional coaching sessions are available to all Finalists (for an added fee) on a first come, first served basis between 05-06-05 and 05-11-05. All Finalists are urged to bring a portable cassette recorder / blank cassette to the coaching sessions. IMPORTANT: IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL FINALISTS TELEPHONE LWM AT (800) 248-7225 ASAP TO ARRANGE THE DATE / TIME FOR THE COACHING SESSION.

SOUND CHECK REQUIRED

AS BEFORE, SOUND CHECK IS REQUIRED OF ALL FINALISTS AND ALSO OF ANY ALTERNATE WHO WANT TO BE PREPARED TO SUBSTITUTE FOR A MISSING FINALIST. BE AT GRANDMA'S SPORTS GARDEN ON THURSDAY, MAY 12TH AT 4PM SHARP (LATE ARRIVAL MEANS YOUR SCORE IS DOCKED).

IMPORTANT FOR MAY 12th - - - TIE-BREAKER QUESTIONS

Similar to May 5th, it is recommended that all Semi-Finalists become acquainted with the Living Water Music, Inc. and Twin Ports Idol websites (www.livingwatermusic.com). Already in this contest, tie-breaking situations have come about, where two contestants have been voted equal in points (see the scores below). Living Water Music owner and Twin Ports Idol creator LiaBraaten is the tie-breaker judge and is also responsible for awarding all of the recording prizes and music scholarships. Contestants are hereby made aware that LiaBraaten may ask any contestant to answer a question pertaining to any part of the LWM and/or Twin Ports Idol websites as a means to help decide difficult tie-breaking situations which may arise on May 5th or May 12th. Just like in the real world competition for your next school or job placement (where it is imperative to know all you can about your future school or employer), when two contestants scores are equal, LiaBraaten may ask short questions pertaining to the content of the LWM and TPI websites to help determine which contestant makes the next cut or earns the right to the highest prize.
